Noise Study

The accumulated noise emitted from a facility can be modeled using a modelling and prediction software and checked against Occupational Health criteria to determine compliance. The predictive noise results are illustrated in noise contours superimposed on the equipment layout or plot plan. Noise attenuation by walls, buildings and enclosures is considered in the assessment to give a realistic representation of conditions on a facility.

Our Approach

Prism approach involves the comprehensive identification of all noise sources, the determination of noise levels from field measurements or from vendor data and the calculation & presentation of the integrated noise contours showing noise levels in all areas of the facility. The results obtained and evaluated against project and industry acceptability criteria
The output of this study are noise contours overlaid on the plant layout drawing. The contours show various levels of noise and help identify high noise emitting equipment or high noise areas.

1

Identify Noise Sources

Review equipment list to identify noise emitting equipment

2

Determine Source Noise Levels

Review plant records and vendor data to determine the levels of noise at source

3

Develop Integrated Noise Contours

Calculate the integrated noise levels in plant areas
