What originally started as a Safety Cases derives from the Offshore Installation (Safety Case) Regulations 2005 and the equivalent for onshore facilities, the Seveso directives which are the main EU regulations or dealing with teh control on major accident hazards involving dangerous substances or the Control of Industrial Major Accident Hazard (CIMAH/COMAH) regulations in the UK. Other regulators and major corporations around the world have put in place their own policies and regulations along the same lines. The HSE Case is the report that documents all aspects of how safety is managed on a facility in one document and demonstrates complaicne with regulations and corporate standards. This document has evolved to address Health, environment and sometimes security.
