Bow Tie Study

OVERVIEW

Bowtie is a graphical representation of how a Hazard can be released, how it can escalate and how it is controlled. It defines the Barriers required to effectively manage the Hazard and prevent, or mitigate, harmful Consequences. In summary, the bowtie technique can be used to visualize, assess, and manage risk. The key objectives of this study is to identify potential Top Event, Threats and Consequences and to identify Hardware and People Based Barriers (including Escalation Factor and Controls) that prevent or mitigate a MAH.PRISM has substantial experience in conducting Bow-Tie studies with experienced facilitators for Bow-Tie Technical Review in a workshop environment.
