Multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA), involves the analysis of various available choices to select the optimum choice taking into consideration key decision criteria which are not directly comparable. One application of this approach is for the selection between options for facility development. An MCDA is conducted by convening a workshop with personnel from disciplines relevant to the decision being made. A champion is appointed to propose and advocate for each option and the team scores the option based on the key decision criteria. Prism’s experienced facilitators apply their workshop management skills with simple voting technologies to manage MCDA workshops and select the optimum options for implementation.
